The NEW HAKKO FX-805 Ultra Heavy-Duty (UHD) Soldering Station is specially designed for the difficult soldering of extremely large mass components such as high current inductor coils, heat sinks, large transformers, shields, and other connections where there is a significant amount of thermal inertia that must be overcome. The station uses new T37 Series Tips that feature 390W HAKKO Composite Ceramic™ heating elements that have a top controlled temperature of 500°C (940°F) and high mass shapes. This combination allows for soldering some of the most challenging solder joints at only 400°C (750°F) even without preheating! Like other HAKKO soldering stations, the quality and construction of HAKKO brand tips lend the renowned reputation for long tip life to this new series of massive soldering iron tips.
The station is also backward compatible with existing T33 Series and T33 Slim Series tips. It also includes the same features as the previous model including normal and power operating modes, up to 6 user programmable preset temperatures, automatic shut-off for safety if the unit is left on by accident, and process control lockout with password protection to ensure that only the appropriate soldering iron temperatures are being used and avoids inadvertent changes to the system. The FX-805 comes with the standard FX-8004 Soldering Handpiece. An optional FX-8005 Nitrogen Compatible Soldering Handpiece is also available and requires the use of nozzles that are specific to the tip shape being used.
New to the HAKKO FX-805 are:
- New large and easy to read backlit LCD display
- New wireless sleep mode which eliminates the connecting cable between the station and iron holder
- New robust iron holder that includes a feature to safely change a tip without having to use a heat resistant pad and touch the tip and easier access to the replace the brass wire tip cleaner
- New IR communication port that supports automatic offset with the FG-100B Tip Thermometer and FG-101B System Tester
- New USB port and HAKKO Control Software that provides computer setup and control of the soldering station and data acquisition, including calibration data
